In Situ:Qiao Collection

This exhibition is part of my collection, named “here and now”, which is my understanding of contemporary art and the original intention of my collection.

Contemporary art belongs to the present—it records the present and also affects the present; therefore, I hope that by collecting the works of artists of the same generation, I hope to grow together with them, feel and experience the contemporary landscape together.

Contemporary art is not only a work of art, but also a kind of culture: it brings me joy and emotion, brings me whimsy, and also brings me wisdom and enlightenment. Collections have opened up another way for me to understand the world and lead me to explore the world. Whether in China or around the world, I believe that the art of each place is the most sincere reflection and expression of its culture, and has its own cultural roots and atmosphere; therefore, the English name of the exhibition is chosen from the Latin etymology of in situ, It means “in the original place”. I hope to display Chinese and international works together, and bring the unique works of Western culture into the context of Chinese contemporary art, so that different cultures and feelings can continue and shine here.

I believe that everyone can promote the development of contemporary art; I believe that the art of our era is as great as the art of any era. Therefore, I would like to work with like-minded friends to be proud and work hard for being here!
