USB Multi-Port Linking Exhibition

Universal Serial Bus (USB) is a standard serial bus connecting computer systems to external devices, and also a technical specification for input and output interfaces. In the context of the exhibition, it translates into a synonymous of a certain artistic attempt by accident, becoming a threshold for establishing multiple dimensions and new connections.

The exhibition adapts this state of being uninterrupted and inconstant as the basic concept to define uncertain links between artists, curators, and different spaces. Instead of being a starting or ending point, the artist becomes an interface connecting the two ends and, a brief junction where spaces and curators integrate and exchange information then be taken away at some point. Over the next month, a series of exhibitions, activities will be present in Shanghai’s galleries, non-profit spaces, multi-brand boutiques, nightclubs, and art fairs.

If the works of each artist and the respective decodes of curators are fragments of the exhibition, then after the audience complete a tour in 6 spaces, they may get an overview map on the ubiquitous style of post-90s artists. This is not a wave or movement, nor a magnificence or metaphor, but a sexy representation of the interface itself.
