Studio
“Studio” brings together twelve of China’s most prominent contemporary artists: Ding Yi, Jia Aili, Liu Jianhua, Liu Wei, Liu Xiaodong, Mao Yan, Xu Zhen, Yang Fudong, Yan Pei-Ming, Zeng Fanzhi, Zhang Enli and Zhang Xiaogang. By exploring their studios and working conditions through each artist’s own lens, the source of their creative output is put on display, and the unique personalities of these artists and their artworks become tangible.
Karen Chen, President of UBS (China) Limited, said: “UBS has a long history of supporting contemporary arts. Through collaboration with various leading museums, galleries and exhibitions in Asia and globally and the UBS Art Collection encompassing over 30,000 objects of the highest quality, we encourage our clients and the public to actively participate in the art. What makes this exhibition special is that it provides our clients and the public the opportunity to closely engage in contemporary artists’ creation process. We are glad to work with Qiao Space and be the lead sponsor of the exhibition.” Jonathan Crockett, Deputy Chairman and Head of 20th Century and Contemporary Art, Phillips Asia, said: “Phillips is excited to be supporting such an inspiring and insightful exhibition at Qiao Space. As we continue to grow our presence in Asia, we are particularly pleased to have found such a fitting project with which to extend our global art partnership programme to the region. This remarkable exhibition at Qiao Space celebrates creativity at its source and offers a fascinating insight into the personal sanctuary of the studio for so many of China’s most important contemporary artists.”
